Toby & Bo

Bio

Toby is a beautiful Blenheim Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, a true aristocrat amongst dogs. With his adoringly expressive eyes, long, silky ears, and soft, wavy coat, he possesses an undeniable charm that captures the hearts of all who meet him.

He loves people and the company of others and adores nothing more than giving super soft snuggles to his human family. He follows Mum and Dad around everywhere, rarely leaving their side...or lap. He cares dearly for his Backyard Farm family, dedicated to being their loyal companion. Whenever someone needs a snuggle, Toby is there. Whenever someone feels sad, scared or nervous, Toby is there to reassure them, always with a special, super soft snuggle.

Bo is a 3 month old puppy and one of the newest members of the Backyard Farm. She is a bundle of sheer fun, energy and most of all, mischief. Whether she is curled up next to Mum on the couch or trotting alongside Dad on a leisurely walk, her elegant and friendly presence is hard to resist. Bo is undoubtedly a contender for the title of “top tail-wagger in England.”

If the characteristic wagging of her Cavalier’s plumy tail doesn’t melt your heart, surely her large, dark round eyes will. Warm and lustrous, with a sweet expression, they hold the power to extract constant petting and unlimited supplies of food from people under their spell.

Bo has a natural curiosity and loves exploring her surroundings, which can provide endless entertainment for any onlookers. Whether it’s chasing after Rocky's ball, dangling from the zip-wire, or simply frolicking with her friends in the backyard, Bo has an infectious enthusiasm and love of life that brings joy and laughter to everyone she meets.

Trivia / Facts

This little breed of spaniels were great favourites of royal and noble families in the UK. Mary, Queen of Scots had a toy spaniel whom she adored. Her and her grandson, Charles I, and great-grandson, Charles II — who gave their name to the breed — loved the little dogs as well. It’s said that King Charles II, who reigned from 1660 to 1685, never went anywhere without at least two or three of these little spaniels. He even decreed that the breed should be allowed in any public place, including the Houses of Parliament.

During Queen Victoria’s long life she had a great many dogs but Dash, the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, was especially dear to her heart. He was given to her as a present in 1833 when she was a teenager. Dash and princess soon became inseparable. She sometimes dressed him in a scarlet jacket and blue trousers, and at Christmas she gave him three India-rubber balls and two bits of gingerbread decorated with holly and candles.
