Sergeant Major Harry Hendini
Bio
Uncle Harry, or Sergeant Major Harry Hendini, was found on an allotment by some of Mum’s dear friends. He was wounded, tired and hungry and needed a safe place to recover. No one knows the true story behind his past but he was instantly welcomed into the family with open wings. From the start, Harry refused to coop with his new family. Instead, every evening, he would fly up to his lookout branch in the trees that overhang their home. Here, he would be able to warn and protect his family if ever they were in danger. No harm will befall his troops, not on his watch!
Harry is the most senior member of the Backyard Farm and a true gentleman. He consistently displays the attributes of an army officer with honour and pride. He is courageous, disciplined, respectful of others, loyal and selflessly committed. He loves his family and they love him.
Trivia / Facts
Harry is named after the famous escape artist, Harry Houdini. This came about after the many, many failed attempts to coop him when he first arrived. Sammy, Benny and Mum spent most evenings chasing him around the yard only to have him jump up to a high branch, beyond their reach. Here he would rest until the early hours of the morning when he would delicately descend and enthusiastically wake everyone with his morning crow.
